Controllable Module

CM SSR Solenoid

One of the things that I don't like about the fish tank is the power setup under the tank. For the longest time I had a power strip help to the edge of the stand with C-clamps, to lift it above any water spills. Granted this has worked but is not very pretty as well as having some limits. It was always a pain tracing the wire for the pump or heater that I wanted to unplug. I am also adding a automated water top-off system so I figured that I would combine cleaning up the powerbar as well as getting the power for the automated water top-off setup.

Above is a picture of the PowerBar after all the modules have been installed, but only a few cords have been moved over. This gives a cleaner picture. There is 3 kinds of modules in use here. The right most unit is a Controllable module. The unit that is second from the right is a switchable module and then the 2 units on the left are just straight outlets, nothing fancy.

Here is a write up on each of the modules.
Switchable Module (pending)
Straight Outlet Module (pending)

This is a modular system. I can remove any module without having to impact the ones around it. To make this work this way I lag bolted a 2x4 on edge to the back of the tank stand. I then used this to anchor the electrical boxes to. I can un-screw any module to work on it if needed with out takeing the rest of the system down. I also have more outlets to work with then the power strip had, with more control.
